Air Fryer Apple Cinnamon Crisp
This is cozy apple pie energy without making crust, which is exactly the kind of kitchen shortcut we support around here. Use apples that hold their shape, like Honeycrisp, Gala, Pink Lady, or Granny Smith. Softer apples will still taste good, but they may turn a little saucy. Not tragic, just spoonier.

Ingredients
- 4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons chopped pecans or walnuts
- 2 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small pieces
- Pinch of salt
- Vanilla yogurt or whipped topping, for serving optional
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 330°F. Lightly grease a 7-inch air fryer-safe baking dish.; toss the apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch until the slices are well coated.
- Spoon the apples into the prepared dish and spread them into an even layer.; mix the oats, flour, nuts, butter, and salt. Use your fingers or a fork to work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture looks crumbly.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
- Air fry for 16 to 18 mins., until the apples are tender and the topping is golden. If the top browns too quickly, loosely cover the dish with foil for the last few mins.
- Let the crisp cool for 5 mins. before serving. Add vanilla yogurt or whipped topping if desired.
Gourmet Geek Tip
Slice apples thin so they soften fast. | Use a shallow dish for the best topping crunch. | Add foil if the crumble gets too brown before the apples are tender.
