Air Fryer Bread Pudding

Day-old bread is the hero here. Fresh bread can turn mushy, while slightly stale bread soaks up the custard and still keeps texture.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups cubed day-old brioche, challah, or French bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup raisins or chocolate chips, optional
  • 1 Tbsp butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 320°F.
  2. Grease a 7-inch air fryer-safe baking dish with butter.
  3. Place the bread cubes in the prepared dish.
  4. Whisk the eggs, milk, cream, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.
  5. Pour the custard over the bread.
  6. Press the bread gently so it soaks up the custard.
  7. Sprinkle raisins or chocolate chips over the top if using.
  8. Let the mixture sit for 10 mins.
  9. Air fry for 16–18 mins., until the center is set.
  10. Cool for 5 mins. before serving.
