Air Fryer Brown Sugar Banana Boats

Banana boats are campfire dessert energy with air fryer convenience. The peel works like a built-in bowl, which is the kind of kitchen laziness we fully support.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe but firm bananas, unpeeled
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts, optional
  • 1 tablespoon butter, cut into tiny pieces
  • Mini marshmallows, optional
  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F.
  2. Slice each banana lengthwise through the peel and fruit, cutting deep enough to open a pocket but not all the way through the bottom peel.
  3. Place the bananas on small pieces of foil to keep them steady.
  4. Sprinkle the inside of each banana with brown sugar and cinnamon. Add chocolate chips, nuts if using, and a few tiny pieces of butter.
  5. Air fry for 5 to 7 mins., until the bananas are soft and the chocolate is melted. Add marshmallows during the last 1 to 2 mins. if using.
  6. Serve warm as-is or top with ice cream or whipped cream.

Use ripe but not mushy bananas. | Foil keeps them upright. | Add marshmallows near the end so they do not vanish.
