Air Fryer Chocolate Cupcakes

Hot coffee makes the chocolate flavor deeper, but hot water works too. The batter will look thin, and that is what keeps the cupcakes soft.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup hot coffee or hot water
  • 1/3 cup chocolate frosting, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 320°F.
  2. Place 6 silicone or foil cupcake liners in an air fryer-safe muffin pan or cups.
  3. Whisk the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  4. Add the egg, milk, oil, and vanilla.
  5. Stir until smooth.
  6. Stir in the hot coffee or hot water.
  7. Divide the batter among the cupcake liners.
  8. Air fry for 10–12 mins., until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool the cupcakes completely.
  10. Frost if desired.
