German Chocolate Brownie Swirl Bars
These bars bring the flavor of German chocolate cake into a chewy brownie base. The coconut-pecan caramel swirl makes them rich without needing frosting.

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted|3/4 cup granulated sugar|1/3 cup packed brown sugar|2 large eggs|1 teaspoon vanilla extract|1/2 cup all-purpose flour|1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder|1/4 teaspoon baking powder|1/4 teaspoon salt|1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips|1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut|1/3 cup chopped pecans|1/4 cup caramel sauce or thick dulce de leche
Instructions
- Line a 7-inch air fryer-safe square or round baking pan with parchment paper, leaving a little overhang for lifting.|whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.|Whisk in the eggs and vanilla.|Add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir just until combined.|Fold in the chocolate chips.|Spread the batter into the prepared pan.|Sprinkle the coconut and pecans evenly over the top.|Drizzle the caramel sauce over the coconut and pecans, then gently swirl the topping into the top layer of brownie batter with a butter knife.|Air fry at 320°F for 18 to 23 mins., or until the edges are set and the center is just slightly soft.|Let the bars cool in the pan for at least 20 mins. before lifting out and slicing.
Gourmet Geek Tip
Do not overbake these bars. The center should look slightly soft when removed because the brownies continue to set as they cool.
