Air Fryer Fruit Turnovers
This is the choose-your-own-adventure dessert. Apple, cherry, blueberry, peach, or mixed berry all work. The only bossy rule is to keep the filling thick so it stays inside the pastry instead of staging a jailbreak.

Ingredients
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed but still cold
- 3/4 cup fruit pie filling or thick fruit preserves
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch, if fruit filling is loose
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest, optional
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon coarse sugar, optional
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 to 2 teaspoons milk
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F.
- Unfold the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 8 equal rectangles or squares.
- If the fruit filling is very loose, stir in the cornstarch. Add lemon zest if you want a brighter flavor.
- Spoon 1 to 2 tablespoons of filling onto one side of each pastry piece, leaving a clean edge.
- Fold the pastry over the filling and press the edges with a fork to seal. Cut a tiny slit in the top of each turnover so steam can escape.
- Beat the egg with water, then brush the tops of the turnovers. Sprinkle with coarse sugar if using.
- Place turnovers in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 8 to 10 mins., until puffed and golden. Work in batches if needed.; stir powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla into a thick glaze. Drizzle over warm turnovers before serving.
