Cinnamon Sugar Cake Donuts

- 1 cup all-purpose flour|1/3 cup granulated sugar|1 teaspoon baking powder|1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon|1/4 teaspoon salt|1/3 cup milk|1 large egg|2 tablespoons butter, melted|1 teaspoon vanilla extract|Cooking spray|3 tablespoons butter, melted, for coating|1/3 cup granulated sugar, for coating|1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, for coating
Instructions
- whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.|In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.|Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients just until combined.|Lightly coat a silicone donut mold with cooking spray.|Spoon or pipe the batter into the mold, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.|Place the mold in the air fryer basket.|Air fry at 320°F for 7 to 9 mins., or until the donuts spring back when lightly touched.|Let the donuts cool for 3 mins., then remove from the mold.|Repeat with remaining batter if needed.|Brush the warm donuts with melted butter.|In a shallow bowl, stir together the coating sugar and cinnamon.|Dip each donut in the cinnamon sugar until evenly coated.
Gourmet Geek Tip
Do not overfill the donut mold. The batter rises as it cooks, and overfilled molds can lose the donut shape.
