Korean BBQ Satay

This sweet-savory marinade gives the chicken bold flavor, but drying the surface before cooking is what helps it brown in the air fryer.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz boneless skinless chicken tenders
  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 4 scallions, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Instructions

  1. ADVANCE PREP REQUIRED
  2. Thread each chicken tender onto a skewer, trimming any excess if needed.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, pineapple juice, sesame oil, garlic, scallions, ginger, sesame seeds, and black pepper.
  4. Add the chicken and marinate, covered, for at least 2 hours or up to 24 hours.
  5. Pat the chicken dry before cooking.
  6. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F.
  7. Arrange the skewers in a single layer and air fry for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
